VXX matures Jan 2019 and close shop then. VXXB will be created to take it’s place. So, I would add vixy leaps on next vol event, which is most similar to vxx.

The game changer will be the glucose sensor. Once you can monitor blood glucose in real time, that’s a big weapon against lifestyle diseases, Type 2 diabetes, etc.

Service providers including names like CME and CBOE as well as hardware such as NVDA.

(just because some company puts the word “blockchain” in their name does not qualify them as picks and shovels, unless you think those thirsty miners need ice tea out there on Long Island)

I think what’s happening is that big players are using VIX to get more short deltas so they can buy more long FANG deltas.

TW just put a $10 commissions cap on options trades, so that makes it practical to short the both of these.
Or else get a Robinhood account for this purpose, once they roll out the free options.

The price of VIX options.

I keep an eye on this primarily because it gives a quick idea of the cost of hedging.

Down a little today to 93.10, still relatively expensive to VIX. Should be in the low 80’s or even 70’s.

Definitely some worthwhile information on the CBOE website and blog — and if the CBOE website itself is (indirectly) cautioning folks about taking long UVXY positions, that should tell us something….
