Dont understand why somw experts are saying they think SVXY and XIV have been terminated when i can see them trading in real time right now They are only trading for $19 a share each but they are trading pretty fast. Just passed 57 million SVXY shares traded. Unfortunately down to $17 a share. this is not good.

VIX opened another 15% higher at 3:15am this morning. My timing to get back in already failed after 3 pm yesterday. But im only single or inverse this time. plus i sold 130 calls for $7 to make a covered call trade with SVXY. SVXY is going to get very close to $100 or even crack it. hard to believe.

@david-moadel Hi David, could not figure out if there was a way to comment on your article about “ready for short vol trade”. My computer skills still lacking. But I found this method. So I think I agree with you. I tossed it all away at the worst time Friday afternoon. Just couldn’t hack it anymore. Constantly seeing and hearing how great…[Read more]

Hello Steven, and thank you for the nice comments. I totally understand how it can be difficult not to bail on a short vol trade. It feels like “they” are watching you, testing your patience until you give up on a trade at the worst possible time. I’m glad that you were able to make up for most of your losses through other trades. Personally I…[Read more]

I have been holding on to my UVXY short position at $8.67 average that was slightly profitable until VIX started going up and staying elevated. Many times I have considered flipping to cover and go long at same time. That did not turn out well as UVXY price would rise another 30 cents before doing a U-turn, at time i was getting ready to click…[Read more]

Richard,
My understanding is they (IB) just do a 50/50 partnership with you whatever side you are on. So they just give you half of what they charge the other person. If I’ve got that right it just occurred to me that they are always making 100%.
I think. Brain a little overworked from losing all day. lol

Zombies? That’s the one “black swan” I failed to consider. I’ve still got half an hour to close out my naked short UVXY position in my IB Canada account. Thanks for the heads up.
On a related thought, do most of you use a pre-borrow program such as the one at IB? I just discovered Canadians are not allowed to access it. IB just discovered it…[Read more]
