Charting VIX-ETPs is fruitless and something advised to stay clear of. We’re talking about 7 & 8 degree derivates that also go through daily rebalancing. The efficacy of technical analysis does not meet the standard levels of above 50% accuracy. Leave charting to other financial instruments.

@kellykline there is nothing to disagree with regarding the comments. Fear can be gripping and I only suggest that in any event you are prepared for either directional move in the VIX complex.
