Called the Vivofit 4, the $80 activity tracker features a color screen, the ability to detect different activities, a waterproof casing, one-year battery life and interchangeable wrist bands. And if Garmin’s past products are any indication, this product should work as expected.
As the name suggests, this is the forth incarnation of the e…[Read more]

As previously reported, Longbow analyst Joe Wittine downgraded GoPro to Neutral from Buy, predicting the company will issue a negative preannouncement this week in concert with its appearance at the CES event. His channel checks confirmed the holidays missed the company’s plan and late quarter $100 price cuts were not enough to save the quarter,…[Read more]

The S&P 500 rallied nicely to begin 2018 gaining 2.60% last week. Those that predict 2018 will be a repeat of 2017 are feeling very smug this weekend, however, we have 51 weeks to go and time will tell. SPX volatility did what it does and dropped with the strong stock market. Friday morning, with SVXY around 135.90 a trader purchased 200 SVXY…[Read more]

Seth Golden replied to the topic Discussing S&P500 Earnings on Markets & VOL in the forum It's All About The Economy 6 years, 9 months ago
Not sure I agree, but I certainly would not place a bulk of the blame or causation on the suggestion of international VOL transfer. The V2TX is quite robust in participation as I also participate in the international VOL trade. Equity dispersion being as high as they have been and volatility correlations being as low as they have been, as an…[Read more]

And the simplest ways to go about shorting vol are also incredibly risky. Shorting the VXX ETF outright requires accepting the possibility of unlimited loss. Going long the inverse ETF means paying a high fee and accepting the possibility of losing all of one’s investment if a liquidation clause is triggered.
What’s more there’s the possibility…[Read more]

Seth Golden replied to the topic Apple Watch with EKG in the forum Apple Inc. (AAPL) 6 years, 9 months ago
That’s doable. The issue is still the price, the CMA approval, reimbursement billing codes etc. Without all of that, the cost is too prohibitive to the consumer and they will rely on the already existing medical grade products that are supported in the healthcare industry.

Seth Golden replied to the topic Apple Watch with EKG in the forum Apple Inc. (AAPL) 6 years, 9 months ago
Hahaha, kind of true. The reality though is that while the Apple Watch makes for a lot of headlines, they don’t even sell 10% of the amount of iPhones. Still an afterthought amongst the consumer crowd. And the incremental cost for that EKG-type application…we’ll see!

given how far and for how long the rubber band has stretched on VVIX, it wouldn’t take much to snap back. Having said that, the catalyst would be…? That’s the question.
